Every bulb has a Kelvin number that says how warm or cold its light is. Low, around 2700K, looks like candlelight and a sunset. High, 4000K and up, looks like an office bathroom or a gas station at night. Put a few different Kelvins in one room and your eye catches it instantly, even if you have never heard the word. That clash is the off feeling you could never name.
